The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder had already garnered a lot of attention when Disney+ announced that it was bringing back the original cast for a reboot. Over the last few months, anticipation has only grown as EJ Johnson joined the cast. Now, anticipation for the series is through the roof as a number of star athletes, musicians, actors, etc. have joined the cast.

Earlier today, Entertainment Tonight reported that star actors Gabrielle Union, Tiffany Haddish, Leslie Odom Jr., Lena Waithe, Marsai Martin, Eva Longoria, Anthony Anderson, Courtney B. Vance, Holly Robinson Peete, Debbie Allen, James Pickens Jr., Jane Lynch and Asante Blackk will appear in the series through recurring roles. In addition, superstar musicians Jaden Smith, A Boogie, Lil' Nas X, Lizzo, Normani and Chance the Rapper will have roles in The Proud Family reboot. Not to mention, Al Roker, Tina Knowles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez and Dominique Dawes have signed on to appear in the show.

These recent additions to the exciting reboot come as the original series celebrates its 20th anniversary. Led by Kyla Pratt, the animated series earned a total of 52 episodes and a television movie on the Disney channel between 2001 and 2005. Along the way, the show picked up a theme song from Solange and Destiny's Child, an NAACP Image Award and avid fan base. Since the show ended in 2005, thousands of fans have reflected on the show's comedy and its importance on television. Ultimately, this constant fan base led Disney to develop The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. The show is currently in production, but it is expected to debut in 2022.
